Vitamins/Amino Acids

Vitamins/Amino Acids

L-Arginine:

  • Dilates blood vessels for better work outs and reduced blood pressure
  • May help increase growth hormone
  • Can help with poor blood sugar metabolism
  • Can help indirectly increase antioxidants in the blood
  • Deficiency very rare

L-Glutamine:

  • One of main energy sources for tissue repair in entire gastrointestinal tract
  • Helps prevent muscle tissue breakdown, especially in immune –compromised individuals (eg AIDS, burn victims, muscle atrophy)
  • Energy source for muscles
  • Deficiency very rare

Biotin:

  • Required to make energy (ATP)
  • Maintains healthy cholesterol
  • Lowers triglycerides
  • Helps Decrease inflammation
  • Improves hair, skin, & nails
  • Deficiency linked to high cholesterol/DNA damage/heart disease/poor skin,hair, & nail strength

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin):

  • Active form (“methyl”) vs cyanocobalamin (found in almost ALL B12 supplements and IV treatments)
  • Which is necessary for over 50% of US population due to very common genetic mutation in which individuals cannot convert B12 (supplement or food form) effectively to the active “methyl” form
  • Required to make energy (ATP)
  • Helps make feel good chemicals in the brain
  • Helps normalize sleep
  • Helps increase glutathione levels and improve immune cells
  • Deficiency linked to depression/poor immunity/low energy/poor concentration and brain fog

Glutathione:

  • AKA master antioxidant
  • Recycles other key antioxidants
  • Prevents plaque in arteries
  • Slows aging process
  • Binds heavy metals and detoxifies environmental toxins
  • Deficiency linked to poor artery health/accelerated aging

Vitamin D

  • Helps increase glutathione in the brain
  • Helps create strong bones/teeth
  • Improves immune function
  • Improves health of EVERY organ in the body
  • Shuts off chronic inflammation
  • Deficiency linked to weak bones/migraines/chronic fatigue/muscle pain/autoimmune disorders

Magnesium:

  • Required to make energy (ATP)
  • Cofactor (“helper”) to synthesize glutathione (aka master antioxidant)
  • Regulates and lowers high blood pressure
